Þórskýr

Þórskýr frá Leirulæk is a highly judged fivegaited stallion after the one and only Skýr frá Skálakoti and Þórdís frá Leirulæk. Both parents have received an honorary price for offsprings. Þórskýr has one of the highest BLUP‘s in the world, namely 131 and is himself judged with a total score of 8.66

He received 9 for Tölt, Trot, Willingness and beauty under rider, which makes a total of 8.68 for ridden abilities. Not only does he have exceptional gaits, he is also assessed with a total score of 8.62 for his conformation. His conformation combines good topline, high withers and a very strong back and croup. He also received 9 for proportions as well as back and croup, where he was described as long legged and well balanced.

This black stallion draws the attention with a good height of 1.46 cm on the withers, long mane and a thick tail. 

He catches the eye with his exceptionally soft tölt with very large and high movements. The gaits are fairly even with a good speed range and good balance. On Landsmót 2024 he received the attractive score of 9.5 for Tölt! Þórskýr is a very gentle and calm stallion that is very nice in all handling.

He will in 2026 be available for breeding in Europe.
